A nice day — sunny and warm
By Laurel
As our next stage was to be 32 kms — i.e. “too long,” according to me — we decided to use the early morning of our rest day to walk the first thirteen kms, thereby paring down our next day of walking to a “mere” nineteen kms. This plan worked out very well and we were back in Ourense with lots of time still remaining in the day to check out the city. Ourense’s claim to fame is hot springs, dating back to the Roman times. And when in Ourense, do as the Romans do and go to the thermal baths! So we did! We rode on a bumpy tourist train (not really a train, but made to look like one) to the Caldas de Outariz Hot Springs/Spa and relaxed in the various hot and warm pools beside the river. Ahhhh, our muscles were soothed and ready to Camino-walk again. If only every stage could end with hot springs!
Note: It was strictly forbidden to snap photos at the Caldas de Outariz, so the photo below of hot springs shows the free pools which are next to Outariz.

Wow Laurel this looks magical.
