9 - 23°C — Blue skies (scant cloud at times)
By Laurel
“Bonito dia,” said Antonio, as we met him along the Camino route this morning. I certainly agreed that it was a nice day. We were walking on a soft path through a meadow with grass, wild flowers, bushes, and some trees to both sides; a mountain ridge was in silhouette at the horizon, and birds were singing. We saw seven deer bounding and numerous rabbits hopping away from our path as we walked. There couldn’t be a nicer morning.
By 12:15 we had reached our destination, on time to snag two bottom bunks in the municipal albergue, then have showers, eat lunch, hand wash a few clothes, siesta, and finally sip red wine in the bar adjacent to the albergue. There couldn’t be a nicer afternoon on the Camino.
